Richard L. Blowers
February 28th, 1932 - April 11th, 2009
Richard L. Blowers, 77, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Mountain Valley Hospice with his family by his side. He was born February 28, 1932 in Northville, the son of George and Bessie Rosa Blowers. Mr. Blowers served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was employed by the Gloversville Continental Mill where he worked in maintenance. Richard loved hunting, fishing, camping and sports; however, his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Frances Smith Blowers, whom he married January 16, 1953; four children: Donna Hoag Mark of Florida, Natalie Blowers of Gloversville, Richard Blowers of Gloversville and William Blowers Alicia of Gloversville; two brothers: Robert Blowers of Northville and Charles Blowers of Gloversville; one sister: Ruth Gifford of Kingman, AZ; four grandchildren: Christina, William, Bessie and Samantha and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited and may call Thursday, April 16 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be no funeral service. Cremation will take place at the Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave. Gloversville, NY 12078.
