Richard N. Boschi

Mr. Richard N. Boschi, 79, of Amsterdam, passed away Thursday evening , December 4, 2014 at the E.L Wilkinson RHCF following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 21, 1935 a son of the late Eugene and Marina Romity Boschi. He was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and was a 1953 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. Mr. Boschi was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Richard worked for many years as a shipping supervisor for the Amsterdam Printing and Litho Company and later the Noteworthy Company both in Amsterdam. He retired in 1999. He was a communicant of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was a Eucharist Minister of the church. He recently was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. He was a member of the South Side Veterans and was the Past President of the Printers and Craftsman Association. Richard enjoyed watching football, spending time with his granddaughters and being outdoors. He married Ponziana "Ponzi"Leonelli Boschi on October 19, 1958. In addition to his loving wife survivors include his son, Eugene A.(Diana) Boschi of Ballston Lake, NY. His daughter, Teresa L. Boschi of Amsterdam. One brother, Alexander (Phoebe) Boschi of Amsterdam. Two sisters, Eugenia Hojohn of Tribes Hill, NY and Roberta (Dave) Jones of Scotia, NY. Beloved granddaughters, Dr. Nicole Boschi and her husband Christopher Saj of Maryland, Marina Boschi of New York City, Julia Boschi and Alaina Boschi of Ballston Lake, NY. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The family would like to thank Dr. Sheridan, Dr. Fedullo and the entire 2nd floor Nurses and staff at EL Wilkinson RHCF for the wonderful care given to Richard during his long battle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00A.M. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, East Main St. Amsterdam with Father O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Interment will be at a later date in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to the Alzheimer's Association.
