Richard "Rick" Paul Brady
August 15th, 1954 - January 19th, 2021
*MASKS REQUIRED AT ALL PUBLIC EVENTS* OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING Richard P. Brady, 66, of Greeley, passed away January 19, 2021. Rick was the oldest of eight children born to John Alvin and Irene Cecilia (Michaud) Brady on August 15, 1954 in Englewood, CO. Rick grew up in Littleton and attended St. Mary of Littleton and graduated from St. Frances de Sales High School in Denver. Rick graduated from the University of Colorado with a business degree in Marketing and Management and completed his first year of Law School at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. Always wanting to return to Colorado, Rick transferred to the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder and graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1980. He worked for John Manville, AIG and Grant Thornton before moving to Greeley in 1988 and becoming the Assistant City Attorney. In 1990, he was promoted to City Attorney and served the community in this position for 24 years before retiring in 2012. Rick served on boards for United Way, Outdoor Buddies, the State and local level of Catholic Charities, Cache La Poudre River National Heritage Center, and Colorado Municipal League. Rick is survived by his wife, Kathy and their five children; Kelly Brady, Erin Brady (Ron Worley), Kara (James) White, Kaitlin (Gilbert) Esparza and John Michael Brady, eight grandchildren; Payton, Brenden and Aaron Worley, Bridget White, Reagan Kopelman, Gabrielle and Charlotte White and Mia Esparza, siblings; Jean Brady, Carolyn (Jerry) Hilgenberg, Loretta Brady, Larry Brady, Marilyn (Jim) Hilgenberg, Maureen (Barry) Corcorran and Patrick (Robyn) Brady, his beloved Aunt Millie, sister-in-law Juliana (Frank) Molek and brother-in-law Chris Work(Janine) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. As you can tell from Rick’s story above - his faith, his family and the Colorado outdoors were among his strongest passions and they animated his amazing life. There was NO Rick without his beautiful, loyal and loving wife Kathy. She was the wind beneath his wings for all of life’s biggest moments. Their over 40 years of marriage is an inspiration to family and friends alike. His kids and grandkids were the apple of his eye and any time spent with them made him proud and happy. Rick’s playground was the Colorado landscape and hunting and fishing there was a joy to him. However, perhaps most important of all was his strong Catholic faith endowed to him very clearly by his dad and mom, John and Irene. He lived it every day with sincerity, hope and love. He prayed for all of us and this crazy world often and we can all look forward to his constant prayers for eternity. Wearing masks and observing social distancing, Rick’s visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 26 at Adamson Life Celebration Home with Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Due to COVID, the Mass of Christian Burial will be a private family service at St. Mary Catholic Church. His Life Celebration will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 27 at the Island Grove Event Center. Private family interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to "Catholic Charities”, "Cache La Poudre National Heritage Area” or "Outdoor Buddies” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
