November 18th, 1935 - June 11th, 2010
CARLSON, Richard A., USAF Retired MSGT, of Tampa, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2010, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Jamestown, NY on November 18, 1935. Richard was a devoted Christian and man of God. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1954. He was a decorated veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Military for 27 years. He also retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 16 years. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Betty Carlson of Jamestown, NY; brother, Roger; and sister, Lois. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Wilna; his children, Kris (Tina); Kreg (Jaime), Jennifer and Tasha (Sam); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Roger). A celebration of his life will be held at South Tampa Fellowship, 5101 Bayshore Blvd., Tampa 33611 on June 17, 2010 at 11 am, the family will receive friends following the service. At his request, his ashes will be interred at Florida National Cemetery, full military honors will be bestowed by the U.S. Air Force. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to South Tampa Fellowship Building Fund.
