Tribute & Tallent Funeral and Cremations
Richard L. Carter
March 27th, 1949 - July 18th, 2021
Richard L. Carter born on March 27th, 1949 to parents Pinkney M. Carter and Woodie Lee Carter. Richard was a smart, kind, thoughtful, caring, and Godly man. He loved playing chess, sudoku, and crossword puzzles with his children and grandchildren. He was a jokester, trivia master, and all-around good person. Softball wore out his knees early on, so he became the biggest sports fanatic as his TV was always on ESPN, or an old western. The world has lost a wonderful man who will be missed by many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Huffman Carter, and brothers: Howard "Bogie" Carter, Joe Carter, and Charles "Kenny" Carter. Left to cherish in his memory are his daughters Lora Santelli and fianc Randy Heavner of Gastonia and Wanda "Princi" Schronce and husband Jason of Charlotte. Beloved sister Betty Jean Eckard and husband Barry of Burnsville. Brothers Robert "Rob" Carter and wife Jean of Conover, Doyle Carter and wife Janie of Hickory, Marvin "Merv" Carter of Bluefield, WV, and sister-in-law Bessie Ashley Carter along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Grandchildren Tony Peeler and wife Karlie of Germany, Coty Peeler and girlfriend Halie Leatherman of Newport, Taylor Boggs of Charlotte, Jordan Grant and fianc Will Norket of California, and Alex Grant of Charlotte. Two great-granddaughters Olivia and Abigail Peeler. The family would like to thank Richard's exceptional and beloved neighbors Jim and Sue Peeler & Alyssa Howington and family for loving him like we did.
