Richard E. "Dick" Kimble
September 14th, 1931 - December 20th, 2007
Richard E. "Dick" Kimble, 76, of Tierra Verde, Florida, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at St. Anthony's Hospital. He was born and raised in Newton, NJ, and lived in Wayne, NJ for 40 years. He summered in Truro, MA for 45 years, moved to University Park, FL in 1993 and moved to St. Petersburg in 2003. He was a 1955 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ with a Bachelors Of Science Degree in Textile Chemistry. He was the Founder and President of Kimtex Laboratories and Fabric Services, Inc. in Paterson, NJ, for 51 years. He was a member of the American Association Of Textile Chemists and Colorists where he served several years as Metropolitan Chairman. His favorite place was Truro, MA on Cape Cod where he enjoyed boating, fishing, and lobstering and was a member, Past Commodore, and Board Member of the Pamet Harbor Yacht and Tennis Club and where he also indulged his passion for cooking gourmet foods. He was a member of the Chequessett Yacht and Country Club in Wellfleet, MA where he enjoyed golfing and cooking and the Isla del Sol Yacht and Country Club in St. Petersburg. He was a licensed private pilot and enjoyed playing the drums. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War where he served with the 1st Marine Division. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elsie B.; 4 nieces, Judy (George) Dyer of Tierra Verde, Virginia (Christopher Hamilton) Bollinger of Annandale, VA, Ellen (Donald) Wang of Charleston, WV, Teresa (Donald) Burns of Englewood, FL; and 1 nephew, Hugh C. (Deborah) Lendrim of Lexington, SC. He was predeceased by his parents Washington and Ethel Kimble and his sister, Dorris Lendrim. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
