Richard "Dick" Bradford Gardiner

Richard Bradford “Dick” Gardiner passed away August 15, 2019 in Tumwater, Washington, his home of eight months. He was born February 3, 1933 to Malcolm Bradford Gardiner and Marguerite Ann (Bock) Gardiner in Nyack, New York. He was a resident of Lopez Island, Washington for more than 40 years. Dick had a dry sense of humor, was trustworthy and responsible, and was a pillar of the community. He was involved in horticulture as a farmer, gardener and handyman. He loved boating. Dick is survived by his son, William Gardiner of Shelton, Washington; daughters, Patti Mize (Russ) of Rainier, Washington, Susan Gardiner of Tumwater, Washington, and Cynthia Gardiner of Olympia, Washington; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sisters, Joan Havercroft of Medina, Washington, Nancy Gilmore of Ukiah, California, and Terry Gibson of Snohomish, Washington. Remembrances and scattering of ashes will take place Saturday, September 14, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Islander Resort on Lopez Island, and on Saturday, September 28, 2019, 1:00 p.m. on Ruby Beach, Washington. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
