Richard Keith Gibson 

July 18, 1944 – April 3, 2024  

 

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Richard Keith Gibson a loved father, brother, husband, grandpa, and friend, passed away at his home in Platteville, Colorado.  Richard passed at the age of 79. 

Richard was born in Stratton, Nebraska on July 18, 1944 to James and Marjorie Gibson.  He had two brothers, Roger and Donny, one sister Elaine, two stepbrothers John and Mike and one stepsister, Jan. 

He graduated from Valley High School in Gilcrest, Colorado in 1962.  He joined the US Army in 1965 where he served with the Truck Maintenance until 1971. 

He married Margaret Hirsch in 1967 and had two sons, Keith and Kevin.  He lived in Platteville, Colorado until 1992. 

Richard moved to Denver and later met Beulah Uber.  They were married in 2012 and moved to Keensburg, Colorado. He lived in Keensburg until 2023 when he moved back to Platteville.  

Richard retired from Miller Coors in 2010 after serving 40 years as a filler operator.  

Richard enjoyed woodworking, making chairs, sleighs and couches from cans. He loved spending time with his friends and taking the old cars for a cruise and going to car shows. 

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, wife, son and stepbrother. 

He is survived by son (Kevin), six stepchildren (Dot, Deb, Jerry, Connie, Tammy and Zack), two granddaughters, and several step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

There will be a military memorial service for Richard on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11:00 at Adamsons Mortuary in Greeley, Colorado. Reception following the service at the mortuary for all his family and friends. A private family interment will take place later at Fort Login National Cemetery in Denver.
