Richard Gould Richard (Dick) Gould of Eugene (formerly of Swisshome, Oregon) passed away on February 20, 2015, at the age of 81 from complications of dementia. Richard was born in Montague, California on November 30, 1933 to Willis (Bud) and Elma Gould. He graduated from Mapleton High School in 1951 and enlisted in the Navy on April 23, 1952 where he served four years of service. On March 18, 1956, he married Eva E. Robertson in Chula Vista, Ca. and returned to Deadwood, Oregon where he began his career as a paymaster at Erskine Lumber Co and later Davidson Industries until retirement. Richard was involved in the Masonic Lodge, was a Super Donor for Lane Blood Center where he donated for 37 years, loved cooking, reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, walking, gardening, outdoor activities, and following his granchildren’s sporting and school events. Richard is survived by a daughter Susan Hayman and husband Ron Hayman of Eugene; son Scott Gould and wife Karen Fleener-Gould of Eugene; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and a brother Roger Gould and wife Cheryl Gould of Mapleton. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Eva, his parents, and Brother Willis (Skeet) Gould. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends Saturday March 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Mapleton Evangelical Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lane Blood Center or the Mapleton Evangelical Church food share program Arrangements entrusted to West Lawn Memorial Funeral Home.
