Richard "Dick" Grayson
March 21st, 1943 - December 25th, 2017
Richard Dale "Dick" Grayson, 74 of Esko died Monday, December 25, 2017 in his home with his wife by his side. Dick was born on March 21, 1943 in Braham, Minnesota to Ernest and Ruth Grayson. He graduated from Braham High School in 1961 and UMD in 1965 with a Bachelor's degree in Business. In 1966 Richard married Linda Schubitzke in Duluth. Dick was a member of the Minnesota Air National Guard, 148th Fighter Wing from 1965 to 2001, retiring as a Colonel. He worked for Travelers Insurance as an adjuster from 1966 to 1991, and as an insurance agent at Century Insurance and C.A. Gray Insurance from 1991 to 2004. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Esko, the American Legion, AMVETS, NGAUS, Air Force Association and CPCU Society. He loved flying airplanes and building hotrods. Dick and Linda enjoyed spending six months a year in Minnesota and six months a year in Florida. Dick especially loved attending grandkids sporting events and he never missed an air guard function. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jerry Grayson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda of Esko; son, Curt (Sheri) of Esko; daughter, Jodi (Jake Fielstra) Grayson of Esko; grandchildren, Logan, Sydney, Caden, and Raegan Grayson, and Kailee, Deegan and Tallon Kiminski; sisters-in-law, Bev Grayson of Medford, Minnesota and Lorene (Harvey) Dammer of Hermantown; and brother-in-law, Ed (Cindy) Schubitzke of Saginaw. Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Esko. Visitation will continue from 2:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. Memorial Service, Friday, December 29, 2017 also in the church. Memorials can be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church or Amie Muller Foundation in support of pancreatic cancer research.
