Richard Edward, Green, 79, of Englewood passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home, of natural causes. Born on November 24, 1937 in Plymouth, Massachusetts to the late Albert and Irene (Garnett) Green, he had been a resident of Charlotte county for thirty-one years coming from Granby, Massachusetts. Richard married Evelyn Nightingale on April 22, 1957. Together they traveled the country as a truck driving team for forty years, managing to visit all 48 continental states and logging over 2 million miles. He played in the Englewood Soft Tip Dart League every Tuesday for thirty years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Green just two weeks prior to his death; two sons: Richard Green II and Michael Green; one daughter: Deborah Pinto. Survivors include two daughters: Diane Barrett and Gail Walton as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of Richard's life will begin on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 11 Am at Chadwick Park, Englewood Beach.
