Richard I. Hatch, 80 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. He went peacefully, surrounded by family in Hospice Care in Rockledge, Fl. ""Dick"" was born in Worcester, MA. the son of Gordon and Della (Hennessey) Hatch and lived in Westborough, MA. until moving to Melbourne, Fl. in 1998. He graduated from Westborough High School in 1949 and Worcester Junior College in 1964. Dick also served in the U.S. Air Force for two years. Upon his return, he began working for Johnson Steel and Wire Company. Dick was selected to attend courses at Worcester Polytechnical Institute School of Industrial Management where he earned a certificate leading to an increased role and level of responsibility. After retiring from Johnson Steel, he worked for the Department of Public Works in the Water Department for the town of Westborough. He was married to Nancy (Howard) Hatch in 1956 and had two sons. Besides Nancy, he leaves behind his sons, David and his wife Dawn of Garden Ridge, Texas and Douglas and his wife Dorothy of Grafton, MA. He is also survived by his granddaughters Olivia and Abigail Hatch and two step- grandchildren Michael Ashley and his wife Jessica and Colton Chapman. He is also survived by his brother, George hatch and his wife Virginia of Wells, Maine. The family wishes to thank the Dr. Jey Pillai Center for Hospice Care at Wasdin Woods in Rockledge, Fl. for their wonderful and loving care they provided during this time with them. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Dr. Jey Pillai Center for Hospice Care 661 Eyster Blvd. Rockledge, Florida 32955 There will be a memorial service at the church Dick loved, Georgianna Methodist Church 3925 S. Tropical Trail, Merritt Island, Fl. at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 25. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Westborough. MA. at a later date.
