Richard E. Hensel

HENSEL, Richard E., 78 of Lutz passed away, Friday, July 3, 2009. He was born in Wheeling, WV, retired as a Captain from US Marines in 1970 and moved to Florida in 1971. He was the owner and operator of Hensel’s Antique and Clock Repair in Tampa. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Leo College and was a member of the Gateway Christian Center Assembly of God, Tampa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma in 1998. Richard is survived by his wife of 10 years, Betty; sons: Richard, Jr of Tampa, Wallace of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughters: April and husband, Jim DeWitt of Northport, FL, Sheryl and husband Ralph DeWitt of Tampa, Wendy and husband Charles of Leesburg, FL; five stephchildren: Scott & Sharon Furry, Steve & Jan Furry, Laurie & James Foster, Lezlie & Jerry Burns and Jennifer & Dan Akins; sister: Mildred and husband, Paul Kudlak of Wheeling, WV and several nieces and nephews as well as 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 7 at 7 p.m. at Gateway Christian Center Assembly of God with interment at Florida National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 8, 2009. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday evening.
