Richard “Rick” Jones – A gathering of family and friends of Rick Jones, 54, of Gaston, SC, will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. Mr. Rick Jones passed away at his home surrounded by his family on August 14, 2024. Born in Piedmont, SC he was a son of the late Richard Wade Jones and Debrah Suttles Cockfield. He met Heather in 1994 and they were married and raised their 3 wonderful sons. Rick worked as a painter and remodeled houses for many years. After years of hard-work he was able to start his own business. Rick was an avid reader and enjoyed Stephen King books the most of all. You could catch him with his family doing things he loved the most, drinking Bud Light, standing around a bonfire, cheering on the Gamecocks, or at a cookout with his best friends.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Heather Jones; sons, Chris Morgan (Megan) of Swansea, Nick Jones of West Columbia, Mason Jones of Gaston; 4 grandchildren, Parker, Kyleigh, Ella and Marian; brothers, David Jones (Sylvia), Chris Jones, Daniel Jones; sister, Robin Jones Blanci; nephew, Dale Gershman (Ashley) and their children, Max, Caitlynn, Colby; niece, Harley Kachel, and his best friend JD Simmons. In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister, Wendy Jones.
