Richard Steven Kirk
September 21st, 1957 - February 24th, 2016
Richard Steven KirkCambria Math, born September 21, 1957, died February 24, 2016 at home in Snohomish, WA with his family at his side, his life cut short by pancreatic cancer. p Rich is survived by his wife of 35 years, LouAnn, beloved children Laura and Steven, brother Tom Kirk (Marla), sister Karen Lampe (Tom), sisterCambria Math, inCambria Math, law Colleen Callahan, brothersCambria Math, inCambria Math, law Tim Callahan (Crystal) and Ron Stuff (Elizabeth), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Rich was preceded in death by his parents. p Rich was born to Thomas R. and Marion (Yonce) Kirk in Billings, MT. He attended schools there, graduating from Billings Senior High School in 1975. He earned a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Montana in 1981. He met his wife LouAnn at UM and was married on August 31, 1980. p Rich and LouAnn were lifelong UM Grizzly fans, and were recently featured in a photo in the Montanan magazine, proudly wearing their Griz tCambria Math, shirts in Guatemala while visiting daughter Laura, a Peace Corps volunteer. p Rich devoted his entire career as a pharmacist to Fred Meyer where he was well respected by his colleagues and customers for his work ethic, honesty, knowledge and integrity. p Rich enjoyed music, musical theater, wine clubs, travel, discovering microbreweries, camping and skiing. His true passion was his motorcycle(s). After purchasing his first cruiser in 2004 he rode at least 10,000 miles a year on his bikes. His favorite ride was the North Cascades Highway, but wherever he rode he had a spiritual connection to the mountains. The highlight of his riding years was jokingly referred to as the bucketCambria Math, list tour. In the summer of 2013 he was able to ride in Yellowstone National Park, over the Beartooth Highway (MT), to Devils Tower (WY), through the Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota and finally through Glacier National Park. p Rich lived his religion through everyday life. His philosophy was simply to be a good person through loyal friendship, hard work, kindness, humor, compassion and generosity. He will be deeply missed by so many. p A celebration of Richs life will be held at a later date. p The family wishes to thank Providence Hospice and Home Care for their help and support in ensuring Richs comfort these last several weeks.
