Richard served in WWII, anti-aircraft division in the Philippines & knew morse code. He worked as a statistician for the US Army after the war & graduated from the U. of the East, Philippines, living there over 20 yrs, where he continued to reinvent himself as a hemp farmer for fishing line, then as owner of a 5 vessel fishing enterprise. There he met the love of his life, Misericordia “Cordy” Llanes, married her in Hong Kong and arrived in Seattle in 1970 with two children in tow. He retired as a planner from Boeing.
