Richard George Lagacy
September 22nd, 1938 - January 4th, 2024
Palmer- Richard George Lagacy, 85, passed away January 4, 2024 with his son and daughter in law, Christopher and Monique, and daughter Elizabeth by his side. He was born on September 22, 1938 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late John and Caroline (Dezalia) Lagacy. Richard was a former fire fighter of Springfield, was previously the shop foreman for Travel Time in Springfield, and most recently worked as a copier technician at Xerox prior to retirement. Richard loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed snowmobiling. He was also a fan of New England sports teams and loved going to the casino. Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Theresa (LeBlanc) Lagacy in 2009; siblings, Doris Vancini, Robert, Raymond, John, Donald, and Carolyn Lagacy; and his granddaughter, Ellisha Lagacy. He is survived by his children, Christopher Lagacy and wife Monique, Joseph Lagacy, and Elizabeth Lagacy; siblings, Shirley Demusis and Edward Lagacy; as well as many nieces and nephews. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 10am-12pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral home. A graveside service will immediately follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield.
