Richard H. Lauson
January 5th, 1934 - April 2nd, 2014
Pastor Richard Henry Lauson, Jr., 80, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on April 2, 2014 at his home in Greeley. He was born January 5, 1934, in Kiel, Wisconsin to Richard Sr. and Isabelle (Herrick) Lauson. Pastor Lauson grew up in Wisconsin then served four years in the U. S. Air Force. After his military service, he attended Trevecca Nazarene College. At Pineville Louisiana Camp July 2, 1955 he met the love of his life Alice Gault marrying her May 11, 1956 in Nashville Tennessee. After college he became an ordained minister in the Bible Missionary Church pastoring for forty-nine year then continued serving in other positions. He came to Greeley in 1978 to pastor the Bible Missionary Church. While he enjoyed fishing and hunting, his true passion in life was being a pastor of people. Over the years he served as an evangelist, wrote Sunday School curriculum, numerous periodicals, and authored a book. He found his greatest joy in caring for his family and the people of his churches. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man full of faith and devotion. He was respected by all who knew him. Pastor Lauson is survived by his wife , Alice Lauson of Greeley; daughters, Esther Thomas (Stephen) of Whittier, CA, Naomi Lauson of Guthrie, OK, Sharon Sater (Ron) of Troy, MT, and Anna Buske (Gary) of Durango, CO; son, Richard Lauson III (Shelley) of Meridian, ID; 22 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; sister, Robin Krause of Sheboygan, WI; and a loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandson. A celebration of his life and hope will be held Friday, April 4, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at the Bible Missionary Church, 516 14th Avenue in Greeley. Interment with military honors for Pastor Lauson will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to "Hospice of Northern Colorado” or the "Bible Missionary Church" in care of Adamson Funeral Home, 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, Colorado 80634. Condolences may be sent to the family at Adamson Funeral Home.
