Richard Thomas Lehmann

On January 20, 2024, Richard Lehmann, died in Wesley Chapel, Florida of cancer. He was 70 years old. Richard was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta; his children, Brian, Colleen, Christopher, and Courtney; his daughter-in-law Jeannine, and his grandchildren, William, John and Patrick, all of Wesley Chapel, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter, and Rita of Rockaway, NY. Richard was born on December 21, 1953 in Rockaway, NY. He graduated from Nazareth Regional High School, Brooklyn, NY, and went on to attend St. John’s University, where he graduated in 1976 with a degree in Education. Richard started a career in securities operations at E.F. Hutton, where he remained for several years until he moved to DTC. Richard left DTC/DTCC after more than 25+ years, having made many lifelong friends. Richard married Loretta Lakeman in 1976. Richard was an avid fan of the New York Mets and New York Jets, and remained so even after relocating to the Tampa Bay area in 2005. Richard greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, and watching them perform in their high school marching band. Richard also loved spending time with his nieces Deirdre and Erin, along with Erin’s husband Virgil, and their daughters Aislin and Audrey. In recent years Richard had begun to enjoy traveling around the world, specifically cruising. The highlight of his travels was visiting Ireland and London in 2023. A memorial service for Richard is scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Loyless Funeral Home, 5310 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes, FL 34639.
