Richard C. Lierheimer

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Lierheimer announces his passing from cancer on February 12, 2021 in Sacramento, California. Rich was 51 years old. Richard Callaway Lierheimer was born in Burbank, California on June 17, 1969, the same summer as the moon landing. As a child, he loved building model rockets—perhaps connected to the timing of his birth. Rich spent the first four years of his life in Arlington, Virginia before moving to Hong Kong, where his father was stationed from 1973-1977. He graduated from Tolland High School in Connecticut in 1988, attended Sierra College, and received his B.A. in Geography from Humboldt State University in 1995. After graduation, he stayed in the area and was co-founder of The Humboldt Cooperative, a non-profit medical marijuana dispensary, and restored classic cars through his company, Nostalgia Auto, which he ran for 25 years. Rich was a devoted father to his daughter Callista, and a devoted son to his mother Rose, for whom he served as full-time caregiver during the last two years of his life. He was a member of Telios Christian Fellowship in Arcata, CA. Rich had a passion for aviation and was happiest when up in the air flying his blue Cessna Skylane 182 airplane. He also loved golf, muscle cars (think Ford Cobra Jet Mustangs and Corvettes!), giant Redwoods, and the wild beauty of the northern California coast. He was a dog-whisperer. His dream was to road-trip across the U.S. with his future wife Jen, in a quest for classic car parts and vintage curio treasures. Rich is survived by his daughter Callista, his mother Rose, his two sisters, Linda and Lisa, and his fiancée Jen.
