Richard P. Lundgren, Sr.

3-29-1946/7-3-2020, Born: Woburn, Massachusetts, Passed away: Port Charlotte, Florida Rick Sr and his family relocated to North Port, Florida, from Woburn, Massachusetts, in 1979. He and his wife Carol opened and operated "Ricks Meats" with his son Rick Jr and two daughters Michele and Leslie's help at their Port Charlotte and North Port locations. After the sale of the meat markets in 1984, he was employed by several local grocery retailers while obtaining his real estate license. After earning his Florida realtors license, he was employed by Florida Home Finders. Rick Sr thrived in the real estate business. He chose to advance his knowledge and career in the industry by obtaining his real estate broker's license. Afterward, Rick Sr and Carol purchased Aalexander Realty in 1995, where he was the broker and owner. For the next five years, Aalexander Realty was very successful and always thrived on giving back to the community that had given so much to them. Rick Sr took this time to hire and train his son Rick Jr and youngest Daughter Leslie in the real estate profession. In 2000 Rick Sr and Carol merged Aalexander Realty with Coldwell Banker Sunstar Realty, where they formed the Lundgren-Moran team. Rick Sr, Rick Jr and Leslie were top performers and earned many accolades together over the next several years. Though Rick Jr and Leslie chose to move on to other professions, Rick Sr stayed in the real estate business until just before his passing. Rick Sr was preceded in death by his Father Albert, Mother Eunice, two brothers Stephen and Robert. Surviving brothers Albert (Nancy), Timothy (Kathy), Daniel, and sister Linda Collins (Charles). Rick Sr married his high school sweetheart and love of his life in 1966, and they shared 54 beautiful years. Rick Sr and Carol have one son Richard P. Lundgren Jr (Dolores), and two daughters Michele L. Cox (Robert) Leslie A. Berndt (David). Rick and Carol's three children blessed them with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The time Rick Sr treasured most was spent with his family and friends, golfing, real estate, and riding his motorcycle. Rick Sr's final wish was to be memorialized through a celebration of life. The date is to be determined by family after current gathering restrictions are lifted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
