July 26th, 1942 - January 18th, 2024
Maki, Richard Amon, Age 81 of Maplewood, MN Passed away peacefully on January 18th, 2024. Preceded in death by loving wife Alice, parents Ahti & Marge, Aunt Norma, Uncle Waino and Brother Jerry Maki. Survived by daughters, Jody(David)Guzzo, Lynn Maki and son, Richard. Sisters, Marcianna(Jim)Basco and Andrea(John) Pecchia. Sister-in-laws, Sandra Maki, Grace Moody and Dorothy Ariola. Brother-in-law, Jim(Barb)Ariola, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a long time instructor at South Hennepin Technical Center, where he taught small engine repair. He had a love of anything with a motor. He was the last surviving, founding member of the Twin City Power Boat Association, in which he raced until he was 80. He was an inaugural season ticket holder with the Minnesota Wild. He was also an avid gun collector and a proud member of the NRA. Funeral service will be Friday, February 9th@11am, with visitation 1 hour prior. A luncheon will follow at the VFW in North St. Paul, MN. Memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society or Wounded Warriors
