Richard “Rick” Oliva, 62, of Somerville, MA, died on Friday, October 21 at home in Okatie, South Carolina. Beloved husband of Susan Oliva [Musker], of Lynnfield, MA. Father of Joseph D. Oliva, living in Okatie, SC. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susan Oliva, his mother, Linda Oliva, his sister, Diana Simone, and three brothers Vincent Oliva, Robert Oliva Sr and Thomas Oliva and other relatives in the United States and Italy. Rick worked as a chef, kitchen manager, and cook for many years of all kinds of cuisine. He was especially known for his soups and sauces. He made many friends over the years and enjoyed playing cards, going on motorcycle rides, skiing and just hanging out with friends. There will be no service. A dedication in Rick’s name to his favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (click “DONATE” in the top right corner).
