Richard Edmund Ricks, age 50, passed away on October 2nd after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 27th, 1959 in Alaska to Richard and Rose Marie Ricks. After graduation from Anacortes High school he spent 5 years in the Army with most of his time in Germany. He was an avid hunter, fisher and outdoorsman. Rich worked for Carbonic Systems in Fife for 11 years. He is preceded in death by his by grandparents Edmund and Rose Jerolis and George and Gladys Ricks and is survived by his wife of 27 years, Donna Ricks of Spanaway, WA, and daughters all in Tacoma, WA, Jennifer (Josh) Lane-Trevino, LeAnna and Cyndi Ricks, Grandprincess Madeline Lane-Trevino, as well as his parents of Anacortes, WA Richard and Rose Ricks, and his siblings, Rose Mary (Kevin) McAulay, Pine Haven, WY, Terry (Jerry) Schaefer, Auburn, WA, Brian (Kathie) Ricks, Anacortes, WA, Carol (Carey) Kraft, Seattle, WA, Carl (Diane) Ricks, Tacoma, WA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, friends and his dog Jay. The family would like to thank Dr. Sibel Blau and the staff at Good Samaratan Hospital for their compassion. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, October 10th at the Waller Road Grange at 1pm. Their address is 2708 64th Street East, Tacoma 98404.
