Richard, known by family and friends as Dick was born and raised in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Helen Huber Roberg and Oscar Edward Roberg. Dick was one of two siblings; Beverly Roberg-Smith was Dick's sister. Dick attended Notre Dame Academy in Chippewa Falls and later attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon after his family moved out west. After high school Dick served in U.S. Navy and was stationed on Treasure Island just after World War II. After serving in the Navy, Dick attended the University of Portland and subsequently met the love of his life Thelma June Roberg whom he was married to for 54 years until her death in 2005. Following his service in the Navy, Dick worked at Blitz Weinhard brewery in Portland Oregon where his father Oscar also worked. Following his work at Blitz, Dick went on to have a very longstanding and successful career in the tire industry managing various industry leading tire companies such as Bridgestone, Firestone and Yokohama tire corporations. Dick was born and raised in the Roman Catholic Church and was a long time member of several parishes in the Portland metro area including Madeline in NE Portland, St. Matthews in Hillsboro and St. Anthony in Tigard. Dick loved spending time with family and thoroughly enjoyed annual family camping trips on the Oregon coast, summer BBQ's and Holiday gatherings. Dick had a genuine zest for life and was loved by all who knew him for his gentle spirit, his positive nature and overall compassion for mankind. Dick was the absolute life of every party, his singing and limericks are legendary. He was an outstanding and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. In 2006, Dick moved to King City where he met Sigrid Chambers whom he later married. Dick was loved and admired by many that he became close friends with in the King City community where he also served on the Board of Directors. Dick is survived by his wife Sigrid, his 8 children, Molly (Rod), Chris (Kathy), Margaret, Mike (Janet) Thom, Peter (Dana), Paul, Megan (Mark), step daughter Tamara Norton (Tom), grandchildren Celeste, Chelsea Rossi (Gregg) Katrina Robison (Travis), Christopher (Karissa), MacKenzie, Erika, Nick, Siobhan (Ryan), Crystal (Sean), Kristopher, Luke; great grandchildren, Daylan, Carter, Emerson, Jaest, Hunter and several Nephews and Nieces. Dick is preceded in death by his sister Beverly Roberg-Smith, Mother Helen Huber-Roberg, Father Oscar E. Roberg, wife Thelma Miller-Roberg and step son Jeff Chambers. There will be a Catholic service at St. Anthony Cemetery on 8/13/14 at 12:00pm followed by a celebration of life.
