Richard Mumford ?Dick? Salisbury Mr. Salisbury, 89, of Charlotte died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by his family. Dick was born on October 19, 1922, in Hamilton, NC, the son of the late Paul Salisbury and Estelle Johnson Salisbury. Dick was a graduate of Fishburne Military Academy. He enrolled in NC State University, but WW II interrupted his college years. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the textile industry. Dick was a true ?people person? and natural salesman. It was often observed that Dick never met a stranger. Dick loved his family especially his two sons. He took an active role in their lives, such as volunteering for scouting and attending all sporting events. Dick was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Piedmont Club. He was also a member of Charlotte Country Club, Quail Hollow Club, Linville Golf Club, Lauderdale Yacht Club, Good Fellows and Wolf Pack Club.
