Richard H. Stein

Richard H. Stein, 60, of Gloversville, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was born August 30, 1949 in Richmond, VA, the son of the late Harry and Patricia Tremper Stein. Rich was a self employed heating technician. On May 4, 1980, he was united in marriage to the former Susan Sakowicz, who survives. They enjoyed over thirty wonderful years together. Rich loved the outdoors; hunting, camping and boating. He was a member of the Pine Tree Rifle Club. More than anything, Rich loved spending time with his family. He will be very sadly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, Sue Stein of Gloversville, survivors include two daughters: Kristen and Meagan; a mother-in-law, Jean Sakowicz of New Jersey; two brothers-in-law: Paul Sakowicz and Richard Sakowicz Melinda both of New Jersey and nephews. Rich was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Stein. Friends and family are invited and may call Saturday, July 24 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor David Almleaf presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rich's memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
