Richard Martin Wilson
February 17th, 1947 - November 4th, 2023
Richard Martin Wilson passed away on November 4,2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on February 17,1947 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, to William H. Wilson and Betty Jane (Arnold) Wilson of Cleves, Ohio. He was their only child and was preceeded in death by both his parents. Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith Ann (Ketterer) Wilson, son William Aaron Wilson and his wife Julie (Theadore) Wilson; daughter Rachel Lynn Wilson Macri, and her husband Stephen Mickale Macri, and six grandchildren: Whitney (Wilson) Sampaio, Janell Wilson and Martin Wilson; Jessica Macri, Hannah (Macri) Gray, and Matthew Macri. After growing up in Cleves, Ohio, Richard married his high school sweetheart, Judy Ketterer. Richard served his country in the Army Reserves in the Artillery Division and worked at Cincinnati Shaper Company and Seagrams Distillery. Their children came along and they moved to Wright's Corner, lndiana, where they began attending the Methodist Church where Pastor David Schulz had a great impact on his life. During this time Richard realized he had a call to ministry and he and Judy responded by attending Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and then moved to Australia with their two children in 1984. At that time they founded Grace Christian Fellowship in Griffith, NSW. This was a springboard to many mission trips for months at a time to Papua New Guinea, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Richard had found his place in this world and thrived with each challenge of adventure to reach people in small distant villiages, through jungles, or in mission Bible Schools. lt didn't matter if it was an individual along the path or hundreds in a field. He was in his element and enjoyed every minute. Years later they returned to the U.S. and served in several churches in different states. With his wife at his side, Rev. Richard Wilson died peacefully at age 76 as a man who was content with his life and satisfied that he had fulfilled what God had ordained him to do. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and those whose lives he touched. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on November 21,2023 at Washed By the Word Church, 4228 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
