Rick Edward Martin
March 30th, 1961 - December 20th, 2019
Rick Edward Martin, 58, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at Pathways Hospice at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Rick was born March 30, 1961, to Harvey Edward Martin and Carolyn Sue Martin in Loveland. He lived his whole life in Northern Colorado. He was raised east of Platteville and moved to Greeley where he resided at time of death. Rick graduated from Valley High School in 1979. He started the summer after graduation working for Hewlett Packard in Fort Collins. He continued to work in the Hewlett Packard building through the company’s changes for the next 40 years. His coworkers became his extended family. At work, Rick worked in various areas including supervising management of the clean rooms and most recently, as a Broadcom supervisor. Immediately after high school in 1982, Rick married his first wife, Laura. They had two sons, Brandon and Brady Martin. He was divorced and later married his second wife, Leigh, in 1995. They had two daughters, Kaitlin and Makayla Martin. On May 7, 2011, Rick married Kim (Fritzler), and in this union, he and Kim enjoyed vacationing and spending time with their grandchildren. Rick enjoyed camping, hiking and fishing. He loved riding motorcycles, four-wheeling and off-roading, tinkering in his shop, and he loved technology and the newest and latest electronic gadgets. He loved flying his drone and RC airplanes. He loved painting and he was a gifted artist. He loved his dogs and his cat. Rick was an avid Broncos fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved Blackhawk and all-you-could-eat crab legs, also enjoying Vegas. He hated spiders (except his Can-Am Spyder). Rick was a prankster with his family and his co-workers. He loved playing practical jokes on everyone around him to get a smile, and he was a good sport when he was on the receiving end. He had a bright smile and an amazing outlook on life in spite of his cancer diagnosis. Rick is survived by his wife Kim of Greeley, his sons Brandon and (Brandee) Martin of Severance, Brady (Rainbow) Martin, daughters Kaitlin and Makayla Martin of Fort Collins, step-son Trevor Fritzler (fiancé Brianna Zimlich) of LaSalle, step-daughter Amanda (Phillip) Stratton of Littleton; his Mother Sue (Joe) Martin Hall of Red Feather; Brother Harvey Michael "Mick” (Charlene) Martin of Greeley; sister Vickie (Todd) Taylor of Greeley; Grandchildren Carter and Charlee, Jordun and Penelope, Austyn and Evelyn Fritzler, Finn and Lira Stratton; brother, Scott Neale and numerous nieces and nephews.
