Rick Wettstein
September 5th, 1952 - August 24th, 2013
Rick Wettstein, of Longmont, passed away on August 24, 2013 under the care of TRU Community. He was born on September 05, 1952 in Sterling, CO to Blaine Wettstein and Mary Lou Sewald. In June 15 1984 he married his dear friend, Pamela Ivey, at the Jefferson County Court House in Golden. This year they celebrated 29 years together. Rick was a Real Estate Broker for RE/MAX for 9 years but he also spent time working as a mortgage broker and owned a boat business with his father called Blaine’s Marine. He was a dreamer who worked hard, never gave up and accomplished those dreams, a man of massive action. Rick was athletic and enjoyed boating, playing golf and pool and simply being outdoors. He invented the Clean Putt golf ball cleaner and enjoyed building things in his garage. He loved his family and spent much of his time with them. His dad was his best friend. Rick is survived by his daughters: Amy (Steve) Humphreys and their children, Malaina and Savvy, of Westminster; Amanda (Brad) Thompson and their children, Ander, Margaux and Alec, of Denver; Sara Wettstein of Denver; Jessica (Bryce) Powell and their children, Bella and Harlow, of Westminster; and Ashley Jones of Longmont; and his sister Paula (Bill) Walter of Cheyenne, WY. Rick was also survived by his loyal and loving puppy, Bernie. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on August 29, 2013 at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations made in Rick’s name to the Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies in c/o Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services.
