Rita Marie Fink

January 14th, 1957 - March 13th, 2024

Rita Marie Basse Fink, age 67, of Evansville, Wyoming, passed away March 13th, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family and the grace of her Lord and Savior.  Rita was born on January 14th, 1957, in Thermopolis, Wyoming to LaVern and Dorothy Joan Basse.  Rita was raised in Thermopolis with her older brother Steve Allen Basse. Sadly, Dorothy passed away when Rita was only 7 years old on September 1, 1964.

After graduating high school in Thermopolis Wyoming in 1975. Rita worked in the food service industry for many years including Consumer’s Thriftway, Albertsons, Safeway and the hospital cafeteria at Banner Health.

In 1979 Rita welcomed daughter Lindsey Diane. Lindsey was by her mom’s side through many adventures and held a close bond with her mother.

Rita’s father LaVern, later married Sharon Kay on September 3, 1982, who loved Rita as her own. Rita gained a stepbrother Curt Miller and stepsister Lori Miller.

Rita moved to Laramie, Wyoming in 1986 and worked for Albertsons and then settled in Casper, Wyoming in 1988 where she worked in the butcher block for Albertsons. On June 29th, 1990, Rita married the man she would be with for 34 years, the love of her life, Richard Allan Fink.  Richard and Rita had many adventures which she always remembered.  Rita’s passion in life was Richard, and her family, and being the best mother, she could be for their four children, Lindsey, Jesse, Laura, and Josh. She also thrived as grandmother for her grandchildren Allison, Madison, Sierra, Chloe, Damien, Angel, Bodie, and Cyan.  Watching them grow was something she cherished.

Rita was a person saved by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A devout Christian, she loved her church and the church family.  Rita enjoyed being with her family, taking great care of people, talking about politics, (which you would never win), and occasionally taking a trip to deadwood.

The highlight of Rita’s life was her love for her husband, children, and her grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her loving husband Richard, Sharon Basse, Father in Law Ed Fink, Daughters Lindsey, Jesse, and Laura, and son Josh as well as her grandchildren, Allison, Madison, Angel, Sierra, Chloe, Damien, Bodie, and Cyan.  Also, siblings by marriage, Janet Walters, Sandra Buggiani, and brother Robert Fink.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents Lavern and Dorothy Basse, and Mother in law Marie Fink.

Rita’s last gift to the world, was being an organ and tissue donor, and she would rejoice in knowing she was able to help others.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, please donate to Luther Classical College (LutherClassical.org).  Rita, and her family, would also love for everyone to rejoice knowing she has been saved by her Lord and Savior.  She is at peace and is home now.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 25th at Mount Hope Lutheran Church at 11:00 A.M., 2300 Hickory St, Casper, Wy 82604, with reception to follow.

John 5:4-5

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.  And who can win this battle against the world?   Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
