Rita M. Surber, of Inglis, Florida died December 30, 2022 at the age of 73, in her home surrounded by her three oldest children. Rita died of COPD as a result of a lifelong addiction to smoking. She quit 18 months prior to her death. She is survived by her children Richard Surber, Robin Surber, Roy Surber, and Renee Surber; Grandchildren Raymond Surber, Rachel Surber, Andrew Barnes, Sayla Barnes, Dylan Surber, Jocelyn Surber, Caitlyn Surber, Abigail Parreault, Sara Wulf, and Jayden Surber; Great grandchildren Joshua Griffin, Jr., Jaxon Griffin, Carter-Lee Porterfield, and Jordana Porterfied. Rita was a gentle, giving, accepting person and loved by all. She loved spending time on her small tranquil farm where she raised goats for the last years of her life. Earlier in her life she owned and operated a bait and tackle shop. She had adventures out west where she operated a small truck stop in the desert town of Oasis, Nevada. She also operated a ā€œnotoriousā€ motel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Rita will be deeply missed by her family. A graveside service will be held 1pm Tuesday January 3, 2023 at Royal Palm Cemetery at 101 55th St. S, St. Petersburg, Florida. Arrangements entrusted to David C.
