Ritchie Russell, age 85, of Charlotte, NC died on March 4, 2016. He was the beloved son of the late Henry Russell and Jean Ritchie Russell. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosanne Dietzel Russell of Charlotte, NC; his two sons Glenn Russell and his wife Candace of Charlotte, NC and Ritchie C. Russell of Greensboro, NC; and his daughter Janetta Hawkins and her husband John of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Ritchie will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte. Visitation will be held from 7pm to 9pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203. Contributions in honor of Ritchie's memory may be made to The American Heart Association or to The Humane Society of Charlotte, 27800 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203.
