Rito Placencio Jr.
January 21st, 1946 - November 19th, 2021
Rito Placencio Jr., 75, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 19, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM. Rito was born on January 21, 1946 in Silver City, NM and moved to Albuquerque as a child. He married Angie Placencio in 1964 and together they raised 3 children. They just celebrated 57 years of marriage. Rito worked In construction and for the City of Albuquerque for many years, creating multiple exhibits at Rio Grande Zoo which still exist today. He retired at the age of 63. Rito was preceded in death by his son, Martin T. Placencio, parents, Catalina B. Ortiz & Raymond D. Ortiz, and Rito Reyes Placencio & Helen Placencio. Rito is survived by his wife, Angie Placencio; daughters, Jessica Placencio and Sandie Griego; granddaughters, Leandra Jacquez, Vanessa Griego, and Cassandra Lujan; and great granddaughter Angelica Jacquez. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Aurora (Tita) Acosta, Ruben Placencio (twin), Odelia Anna Ortiz, Yolanda Ortiz-Sanchez, Johnny Ray Ortiz, Nick Placencio, Louis Placencio, David Placencio, James Placencio, Ronnie Placencio, Mary Rita Amador, Linda Medina and Irene Legarda and Martha Bueno. He is also survived by lifelong friends, Raul and Connie Gonzales numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Rito touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. He never passed on the opportunity to help others. He was a jack of all trades and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Family and friends can send flowers or condolences in memory of Rito Placencio Jr. and can leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rito Placencio Jr. to pay them a last tribute. Pallbearers Erasmo Acosta Jr, Anthony Kotsios, Mark Lucero, Luis Ramirez, Jeff Lujan and Anselmo Guajardo. Viewing, Rosary and Celebration mass will be held December 4th 2021 at 9 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 820 Broadway Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
