Robert E. Andrews Jr.

Robert E. Andrews Jr, 77, of Fort Plain passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY with his loving family by his side. 

Born on July 22, 1947, to the late Robert and Catherine (Siebe) Andrews, he attended Fonda Central School until he was enlisted into the Army. He served as a specialist in the Army during the Vietnam War from September of 1966 to September of 1968, when he was honorably discharged. 

He was unified in marriage on July 3, 1971, to Edna M. (Slater) Andrews. They spent 49 wonderful years together before her passing on October 11, 2020. 

Spending time with his family was the most important thing to Robert. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, and he held a special bond with each one. From fishing, camping, driving for ice cream, to racing RC cars, he always made the time. 

He was predeceased by his loving wife Edna Andrews; parents Catherine and Robert Andrews Sr, and grandson Michael Morrell Jr. 

Robert is survived by his children Kimberly (Darius) Wieboldt, Kelly Wilsey, Karen (Michael) Morrell, and Robert (Vicki) Andrews III; grandchildren Heather, Melinda, Ashley, Mackenzye, Daniel, Taylor, Morgan, Chloe, and Dane; greatgrandchildren Garrett, Peyton, Norah, Bailey, Bryson, Cheryl, Amelia, Jackson, Rhyleigh, Adelynn, Kaileb, and Charleigh; brothers Kenneth (Darlene) Andrews, Larry (Kathy) Andrews, David (Donna) Andrews Sr, and Dana (Tammy) Andrews; sister Lisa (Vernon) Hinkle; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Robert and his wife Edna will be interred in the columbarium wall at Gerald B.H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Friday, July 12, at 11am.
