Robert Frederick Bellen

September 5th, 1982 - August 29th, 2024

Rob passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

Born September 5, 1982, Rob was raised between New York and Pennsylvania, spending time with his father in New York and his mother in Pennsylvania. He attended Minersville Area Jr/Sr High School in Pottsville, PA, where he played football for the Battlin' Miners and graduated in 2000. Rob had a  love for sports in all forms. He enjoyed BMX biking, practice shooting with his brother, and golfing. He also found joy in playing video games.

Rob had a love for construction and built a career around it.  He enjoyed building and rebuilding everything from kitchens and bathrooms to chicken runs and batting cages. Construction was more than a profession; it was a reflection of who he felt he was. He took great pride in his work and restoring items others might have thought beyond repair, from old electric guitars to broken down gaming systems. Rob felt truly valued by the work he did, and it brought him a sense of accomplishment and happiness.

His youthful spirit and boundless energy made him endlessly entertaining to those around him, especially kids. Rob was a young soul, full of life, who was kind and giving even at times he had little himself. Rob was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, especially his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick Bellen and Bonnie Capparello; his step mother Nancy L. Bellen; his paternal grandparents, Ellen and Robert “Torch” Bellen; and his maternal grandparents, Carmine and Mary Capparello. In addition to his parents and grandparents, Rob is predeceased by his maternal aunts: Angelina Lucas, Linda Wallach, Michelle Winney, and Emma Christman; and his paternal uncle: Tom Bellen.

Rob is survived by a large and extended family. He leaves behind his siblings: George Bellen, Shannon (Bob) Morrison, Byren (Jenny) Bellen, Nichole (Casey) Spurlock, Theron (Kelleen) Suits, Jeffery Adams, and Tressa Adams. A true kid at heart, Rob was cherished by his nieces and nephews: Robert Morrison, Cameron Morrison, Alyssa Flansburg, McKenzie Bellen, Lire Spurlock, Byren F. Bellen, Brayden Adams, Quinn Bellen, Kevin Olenick, Jr., Maddox Bellen, and Karson Olenick.

He is also survived by many aunts and uncles: Inkeri and Sam DeRobertis, Clarinda Bellen, Thomas Sickler, Edward and Heidi Sickler, Tina Pabis and Mark Rathbun, Mona and Ted Jennings, Toni Capparello, Billie Jo and Nathan Quinn, Carmine Capparello, Jr., and John and Antionette Capparello. He also is survived by numerous cousins and a wide circle of friends.

Rob's greatest accomplishment, his greatest loves, and the highlight of his life were his children. Rafe Bellen, Lorelei Bellen, and twins Simon and Penelope Bellen were the center of his world and his love for them was evident. His pride and joy in being their father were unmatched.

Rob was loved far more than he ever knew and will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Rob's life will be held on September 14 at 12:00 at Bob’s Trees located at 1227 W. Galway Road, Hagaman, NY 12086. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring Rob and sharing stories of his life.
