Robert "Bob" Bradshaw, 86, passed away with his loving wife by his side on December 29, 2022, after an enduring battle with Alzheimer's disease. Bob was born in Yuba City, CA, on May 4, 1936, to Jeanette Brock Dunn and L.W. "Jack" Bradshaw of Wheatland, CA. He grew up on his parents' farm and attended school in Wheatland, where he met the love of his life Catharine "Cathi" Paquette at WUHS. After a year of dating Bob and Cathi married in 1958. Bob joined the National Guard, serving 20 years while raising sheep with his father and later cattle with his brother. Bob and Willard farmed various commodities at home and around Wheatland, including rice, walnuts, and hay. Bob continued to serve his community by working with the Yuba County Sheriff's Department as reserve deputy for 16 years. He served on several agriculture boards, 4-H woodworking leaderships, the WUHS Board of Trustees, and the Wheatland Cemetery District for many years. Bob was passionate about vehicles, taking part in the Hot Rod Club of Yuba City in his youth. He was affectionately called "Bobby-Can-Fix-It-Bradshaw", by his daughters for his knowledge in fixing any vehicle, any problem. He joined the Plumas-Brophy Fire Department, for which he enjoyed building and painting fire trucks, as well as serving as a Fireman and Fire Chief in his 50 years with the department. Bob's son and nephew followed his example, with Daniel serving alongside him and Art earning the position of Fire Chief for the Wheatland Fire Authority later on. Bob loved his family dearly and worked long days and years farming rice with his son until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marilyn B. (Spike) Waltz; his brother, Willard (Rena) Bradshaw; his son, Daniel R. Bradshaw; and his grandson, Dylan Morton. Bob is survived by Cathi, his wife of 64 years; their two daughters, Lynne (Dwight) DePue of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Jeanne (Jeff) Roberts of Rocklin, CA; daughter-in-law, Sherri Bradshaw; and grandchildren, Michael and Amanda Bradshaw of Wheatland. The viewing will be at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, CA, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 4-6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on C St. in Marysville, CA, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 10am, followed by a procession to the Wheatland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wheatland Fire Authority, PO Box 119, Wheatland, CA 95692.
