Robert George Brewer

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, Robert George Brewer has passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at age 99. Bob was born to Harry and Myrtle Brewer in Pittsburgh, PA on April 19, 1916. He graduated from Canton-McKinley High School and Akron University with a mechanical engineering degree. In 1938 he married Miriam Barham in Canton OH. They had two sons, Douglas and Ronald. Miriam passed away in 1972. Bob was a WWII army veteran where he utilized his engineering degree as a cartographer. He retired from Bendix Corp in Elyria, OH after 35 years. Bob married Patricia Emling in 1975 and adopted her two young daughters, Terri and Denise. Since his retirement in 1978, his family has lived in Charlotte, NC. In retirement Bob continued to work in many different areas of interest. Most importantly, he enjoyed his work as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau. He is survived by Pat, his wife of 40 years. His unique family includes four children, Doug Brewer, Stockton, CA; Ron Brewer and wife, Natalie of Houston, TX; Terri Benton and husband, Rob, of Charlotte, NC; and Denise Brewer, of Boone, NC; grandchildren, Mark Brewer and Michael Brewer, and wife, Deanna of Houston, TX, Emling and RH Benton, of Charlotte, NC, and two great-grandsons, Ryan and Sean Brewer, of Houston, TX; sister-in-law, Pat Brewer, of CA; and daughter-in-law, Linda Brewer, of TX. He was a good man, awesome husband and father and will be dearly missed. He loved family gatherings and looked forward to watching his grandchildren"s sporting events. His life will be celebrated at a memorial Mass on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. at St. Ann Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 2:00.
