Robert Butler

Robert L. Butler of Greeley, Colorado, passed July 28, 2021. He was 89 years young. Robert was born February 12, 1932, in Browstown, Indiana. He was born to Cephus and Luwi Butler of Freetown, Indiana. Robert is survived by wife and best friend Wilma P. (from Greeley, Colorado). Children: Robert D. (Wife: Sandee), of Utah. Deborah Kay, of Ault, Colorado. Vicky Lynn, (husband: Phil) of Raytown, Mo. Grandchildren: Sierra R. (Husband: Taylor) of Greeley, Colorado. 10 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Sister In-law: Ann (Husband: Clarance) of Lewiston, Idaho. Numerous Nieces and Nephews. And his beloved 4-legged companion, Lil’BIT. Robert was preceded in death by parents: Cephus and Luwi Butler, brothers; Fred JR., Keith William, Don Eugene Butler Robert served his country, a proud member of the United States Air Force, serving from 1951-1954. Robert was an over the road truck driver for 61 years of his life, a passion he passed onto his son Dale. Robert ended his glorious career in 2013, after 16 years with Walmart, in Loveland, Colorado. With his time at home, Robert enjoyed working in his yard at his beautiful home, spending his days woodworking and successfully taking his sons quarters in a friendly game of poker. He also enjoyed listening to classic country music. Robert also served as a Deacon at Living Grace Baptist Church, where he was proud in professing his faith and love for God. He also was proud to volunteer at Meeker elementary school where he served as a crossing guard, to ensure that all the children would arrive and depart safely to and from school. He took great delight in the gifts the children would bring him each and every day and was happy to share the chocolates and hats with his family upon his return home. Robert met Wilma at Warnorco skating rink in Greeley, Colorado. This chance meeting would lead to a 68 year, lifetime best friend and companionship. A bond that will never be broken, in life or death. Robert loved God, his wife and family, and will be missed by all. Robert will be loved and cared for by God, until the family is reunited in Heaven.
