Robert Cart

On Tuesday, January 1, 2019 after complications arising from a stroke, Robert Louis Cart age 74, passed away in Sun City, Arizona. Known to all as Bob, he was devoted husband and friend to everyone he passed. Born to John and Lavonne Cart, Bob and his sister Linda grew up in the San Fernando Valley in California. A Veteran of the Vietnam War, Bob, his wife Cynthia Cart and their young family moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1974 when he was offered a position as head groundskeeper at Sharlot Hall Museum. In 1991, Bob remarried and he and his beloved wife Lynn Garton Cart moved to Georgia. They remained there until they retired in 2015 and returned to Arizona. Throughout his life Bob had many careers including master tree trimmer, business owner, and building inspector. He was admired by his colleagues throughout his life for his work ethic and friendly banter. He was an avid stamp collector and loved old cars. During the last three years, Bob could be seen about Sun City visiting yard sales with a ready smile and tale to tell, his ever-present Pink Panther hat perched on his head. Bob loved his family and was very proud of each and every one. He is survived by two daughters Michelle Horton and Julie (Brian) DeDe, four step-children Kim (Wayne) Johnson, Phillip (Mary) Reeves, Kellie (Scott) Pettit, and Kris (Julie) Akin, 13 grand-children, 3 great grand-children and his sister Linda Cart. Bob is preceded in death by his wife Lynn Garton Cart and his parents John and Lavonne Cart. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 10am at Regency Mortuary, 9850 West Thunderbird Road, Sun City.
