Robert "Bob" J. Cleaver Sr.
January 16th, 1951 - February 12th, 2024
Robert James Cleaver Sr., 73 years old, formerly of Hudson, FL and long-time resident of Lafayette, NY, passed away on February 12, 2024. Bob was born on January 16, 1951 in Boonville, NY. He is preceded in passing by his father, Fred Cleaver Sr., mother, Helen Phelps Cleaver, and his faithful companion, Midnight. He is survived by his children Christa Rubin, Robert J Cleaver Jr., Melinda Cleaver, Martin Cleaver and his beautiful grandchildren Savanna, Annabelle, Attlie, Amelia, Beckett, Logan, Lillian and Evelyn. He leaves behind his close siblings, Edward Cleaver, Fred Cleaver Jr, and Doris Monica along with all their children. Robert graduated from Corcoran High School in 1969 where he met his ex-wife and mother of his children, Sharon K Cleaver. He worked as an auto mechanic for 35 years at Sears & Roebuck, followed by opening his own auto repair business and then finally as a truck driver traveling across North America. Robert proudly served our country in the Army Reserves as a cook for over 22 years. As a hard worker, Robert appreciated his limited spare time camping at Cranberry Lake, fishing, hunting, all awhile spending time with family. Funeral services will be held at Ballweg & Lunsford funeral home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, NY on Friday, February 23, 2024. His family will be present for welcoming loved ones starting at 5pm and formal services starting at 7pm.
