Robert Clayton †œClay†� Cody of Centennial Colorado went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 7th, 2015 at the age of 71. He was born in Amarillo, Texas to the late Robert Alton Cody and Marie Williamson Cody. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1962 and received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from West Texas State University in 1968. He was married for 34 years to Linda Cody and was a member of Riverside Church SBC in Denver for 22 years. Clay worked in the telecommunications industry with Southwestern Bell, ATT and Lucent Technologies until his retirement. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and woodworking. It was important to Clay that his retirement years be spent in service to others. He put his time, energy, and talents to use volunteering to make repairs to non-profit facilities and to the homes of the elderly and other people in need. Clay is survived by his wife, Linda Cody of Centennial, two daughters, Schelle Miller and husband Scott of Norman, Oklahoma and Chris Duarte and husband Rolando of Austin, four grandchildren, Will and Jack Miller of Norman, Karen Cain of San Antonio and Elizabeth Cain of Brooklyn, New York, his sister LaPaula Hemphill and husband D†™Nard of Amarillo, two nieces, Latitia Walker of Amarillo and Beverly Davis of Lubbock, Texas, five nephews, Mark Hemphill of Brownsburg, Indiana, Jon Phelps of Austin, Ty Phelps of Blanco, Texas, David Alderman of St. Charles, Missouri and Brian Alderman of Houston, father and mother-in law, Ernest and Hazel Terry of Georgetown, Texas and sisters-in-law Margie Alderman and husband Roger of Teague, Texas and Karen Phelps and husband Jack also of Georgetown, Texas, nine great-nieces and nephews, his cousin Richard Hazlewood of Needles, California and by a great many long-time friends. Clay was preceded in death by his nephew Jay Alderman. Clay will be remembered for his faith, character, integrity, intellect, generosity with his time, and for his sense of humor and playful spirit. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14th at Riverside Church SBC in Denver. Memorials may be made to Riverside Church.
