Robert (Bob) Eugene Cooley, of Gulfport, Florida, went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2019. A funeral service is not planned at this time; rather, a Celebration of Life will be held Nov. 9, 2019 from 2-4pm at South Pasadena City Hall, 7047 Sunset Drive S, South Pasadena, FL 33707 for friends and family to share memories and celebrate Bob’s life. Bob was born in New Castle, Indiana on April 25th, 1945. He graduated from Marion High School, attended Ball State University and St Pete Jr College and then joined the United States Navy in 1966. He dutifully and honorably served on the USS Ticonderoga. Bob married Linda (McKevitt) and recently celebrated 49 years of marriage. He is survived by his father (Charles Cooley), brother(Fred/Lorene Cooley), spouse (Linda), father in law (James McKevitt) 2 children (Natalie/Scott Smith and Brett/Deb Cooley), 7 grandchildren (Kira, Kyle, Jena, Kevin, Hayden, Keaton, Katie), 3 step grandchildren(Kelly, Alexa, and Kyle), his faithful dog, Shelby, and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother (Betty). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Friends of Strays Animal Shelter, The Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled American Veterans, or The Alzheimers Association. David C. Gross Funeral Home - Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family.
