Robert D. Corbett
June 15th, 1926 - February 15th, 2011
"Belchertown - Robert D. Corbett, 84, of Chauncey Walker St. died peacefully on February 15, 2011. He was born June 15, 1926 in Winchester, NH, son of the late William J. and Elizabeth L. (Watt) Corbett. Living in Belchertown for over 30 years, Robert previously resided in Southwick. He retired from the former Brooks Bank Note after over 30 years of employment. He then went on to work at the Belchertown State School in the Maintenance Dept. Robert enjoyed drawing cartoons and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by his wife "Jackie" Jacquelyn (Jacobs) along with his four daughters, Linda White and her husband Robert of East Lyme, CT, Sheila Masi and her husband Mark of West Springfield, Jacquelyn Demers and her husband Scott of Belchertown, and Patricia McDonald of Hastings, Minnesota. Robert was the eldest and took very good care of his siblings, Catherine Carey of Warwick, MA, Dennis Corbett of Olympia, WA, and Buddy Corbett of Southwick. He will also be greatly missed by his 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and kind neighbors at Pine Valley Plantation. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by a sister, Molly Johnson, brother, Ross Corbett, sister, Margaret Chaclus, and sister, Patty Marco. A very special thank you to care givers Arlene Sosa and Theresa Leab along with neighbors, friends and everyone at Renissance. Services will be held at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home on Monday Feb. 21st at 2:00 p.m. A visitation time will precede the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
