Obituary for Robert Lee Council On Thursday April 18, 2024, Lieutenant Commander Robert Lee Council, a loving husband of Glenda (Bell) Council for 20 years passed away at age 80. Robert (Bob) was born December 11, 1943, in Denver, Colorado to Marvin and Katherine (Lanting) Council. Bob enlisted in the Coast Guard and served honorably for 25 years. Thirteen years were spent at sea. He began as an enlisted man and then went through officer candidate school to become Lieutenant Commander before retirement. During his service he was awarded many commendations. He retired from the Coast Guard in 1986. After retirement Bob worked for the Veteran’s Affairs Office in Albuquerque and later was a realtor. Bob was a very caring individual. He was kind and thoughtful in his own quiet way. Bob loved his wife and adored his pet dogs. Bob will be missed by his wife and many friends. He will be interred at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
