He was born April 9, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late William H. and Cecelia Muttart Hensley. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and made a career as an equine vet. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Morris Hensley, daughters, Jennifer Zurick, Berea, Lisa Rector, Winchester, step-daughter, Christine Shope, Ashland, sons, Douglas Hensley, British Columbia, Joel Hensley, FL, Timothy Hensley, Berea, Todd Hensley, Lexington, Rob Hensley, Nicholasville, sister, Mary Churney, IL, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Scotty Hensley. A memorial service will be held Sunday February 12, 2017, 3 PM, at Unitarian Universalist Church, 3564 Clays Mill Road, Lexington, 40503.
