Robert Young Fidler

Dr. Robert Young Fidler, 81, died peacefully at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, FL on May 17th, 2017. Dr Fidler attended West Virginia University and got his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Fidler had a thriving pediatric practice in Richmond, VA for 42 years. He was adored by his patients, many of whom brought their own children to see him and those children in turn did the same. By his retirement, Dr. Fidler cared for three generations of children in his office. He showed the same committment to his professional colleagues. At Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA, Dr. Fidler served as the Chairman of the Pediatric Department, Chief of the Medical Staff and as a member of the Board of Trustees for 13 years. After retirement, Dr. Fidler served on the board of trustees at Bay Front Hospital in Punta Gorda, FL. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Fidler of Punta Gorda, FL, brother Richard Dayle Fidler of Belle, WV, son Dr. Robert Young Fidler Jr. (Liz) of Richmond, VA , daughter Kristin Fidler (Corky) of Portland, OR, step-sons Dale Chadwick Wilson (Heather) of Washington, DC and Robert Hunter Wilson (Jessie) of Vancouver BC and grandchildren Dr. Robert Young Fidler III, Jessica, Samantha, Theodore, Aubrey, and Charlotte.
