Robert Wallace Fisher

95, of St. Petersburg, died at home on June 21st, 2011 in the loving care of Hospice and his family. Robert was born on January 8th, 1916. He is a lifetime resident of St. Petersburg, FL. He graduated from the University of Florida with an AB in 1938 and a Juris Doctor in 1940. He began practicing law in St. Petersburg in 1940. He was a Special Agent for the FBI from 1941 to 1946. Upon returning to St. Petersburg, he resumed his law practice from 1946 to 1996. He was a former Partner and Shareholder in the Law Firm of Fisher and Wilsey, P.A. He was President of the St. Petersburg Bar Association in 1958. He was also a member of the Florida Bar, the St. Petersburg Bar Association, The American Bar Association and the American Judicature Society. He was a Fellow at the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Between 1975 and 1984, he was Chairman of the Board for the Sun Bank and Trust Company of St. Petersburg and a Director of Sun Banks of Florida, Inc, a registered Bank Holding Company from 1972 to 1986. His Civic Activities include Past President of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Past President of the Suncoasters, Inc. He was named Mr. Sun in 1975. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club where, among other activities, he enjoyed sailing. As a member of the Snell Isle Country Club, he enjoyed playing golf. In 1965, he joined the St. Petersburg Country Club and started to enjoy playing tennis. Other Organizational Memberships include the Suncoasters, the Suncoast Tiger Bay Club, St. Petersburg Lions Club, Salvation Army Advisory Board, Sigma Nu Fraternity and the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. He is survived by his wife, Katharine Webster Fisher, a daughter, Marian Charest, a son, Robert W. Fisher, Jr., two grandsons, Paul Charest and Thomas Swanson, a granddaughter, Nancy Ebel, two great grandsons, Brady and Brett Ebel, a stepdaughter, Katharine Lynn Moshier, a stepson, William F. Moshier, a nephew, nieces, a grand niece, and grand nephews. The family is extremely grateful for the loving care and concern given by the aides from Southern Home Health Care for our father over the past years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations go to the Salvation Army.
