Robert W Gardner

Robert "Bobby" Wayne Gardner, age 58, passed away suddenly on March 6, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was a wonderful and loving Daddy, Granddaddy, PopPop, Brother, and Friend. Born on August 13, 1960 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Rev. John B Gardner and Willie Mae Gardner. He was the manager at Leisure Life Pools and Spas, in Lexington, SC. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He didn't just have customers, he had friends. He also prided himself on his cooking, which was always delicious. He loved the beach and was a huge football fan (Dallas Cowboys and South Carolina Gamecocks). As a teenager, he sang with his mama and 2 of his brothers, as The Gospel Gardners. He is survived by his daughter, Marlena Gardner Guessford, of Columbia, SC and his son, Brent Combs, of The Colony, Texas; His grandchildren, Krista Guessford, Stephen Owens (Morghan), and Brett Guessford; His great grandchildren that he adored, Parker and Rowan Guessford, and Cora Owens; His brothers, Rev. Doug Self, Charles Self, and Rev. John Gardner; As well as his extended family and many friends. He is, and always will be loved and greatly missed. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 2pm at Faith Baptist Church (801 South Maple Street Columbia, SC 29205).
