Obituary Robert E. Goodwin, Sr., 78, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville, Kentucky . He was born on August 30, 1933 in Russellville to the late Herman and Mary Francis Epley Goodwin. He served with the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired from the State Auditor Office as the Director of County Audits. He served as a doorman for the Kentucky State Legislature for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Rushing Goodwin; his son, Robert E. (Nicole) Goodwin, Jr., of Shelbyville; his sister, Martha Byrne Dempsey, of Frankfort; and his grandchildren, Emily Lauren Goodwin, Edmond Alexander Goodwin, Logan Tyler Goodwin, and Robert Carlyle Goodwin. Funeral Information Funeral service will be 10am Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. with Dr. Bob Browning and Dr. Mike Greer officiating. Entombment with military honors, officiated by Rev. Truett Cocanougher, will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
